FLAGSHIP — THE JACK MODEL 01
Steel where steel earns its weight, a motor tuned to the legal limit, and a battery engineered to leave. Scroll — we strip it to components.
01 — MOTOR
250W continuous-rated hub drive, pedal assist only, cutting precisely at 15.5 mph — the UK legal ceiling. Torque mapped where a commuter spends it: pulling away and uphill. Compliance is an engineering spec. We hit it.
02 — BATTERY
36V 13Ah — 468Wh of certified cells in a lockable pack that slides from the downtube in seconds and charges from any socket you own. Up to 80 km in eco; ~60 km ridden hard. Measured, not marketed.*
03 — COCKPIT
One glance: speed, assist level, charge. Colour LCD on the left bar, Shimano 7-speed on the right, bell where your thumb expects it. Instrumentation, not decoration.
04 — WHEELS & BRAKES
26×1.95 wheels sized for broken tarmac, a suspension fork tuned for kerbs, and disc brakes front and rear — because stopping distance is the spec that matters most in traffic.
05 — BRAKES
Mechanical disc brakes front and rear. Cable-actuated on purpose: they can be trued and adjusted at the kerbside with a 5mm key instead of being bled by a shop. A rim brake loses its bite the moment it rains and wears the wheel out doing it. Pads and rotors are consumables, and we hold them in stock — fitted at our London store or posted out same day.
06 — DRIVETRAIN
Shimano 7-speed with a thumb shifter on the right bar. The assist does the heavy lifting, so the range is there for hills and headwinds rather than for racing. Standard chain, standard freewheel, standard tools — there is nothing proprietary on this drivetrain, which is why a bike shop anywhere can service it.
07 — FORK
An adjustable front suspension fork, set for dropped kerbs, ironwork and the patched tarmac of a real commute. Enough travel to take the sting out of a pothole, not so much that you are hauling a downhill bike up onto a train. Front suspension only — the rear stays rigid, which is what keeps the weight down.
08 — RACK & GUARDS
A rear carrier on proper rails and full-length mudguards, both fitted as standard rather than sold back to you as an upgrade. The guards are deep enough that you arrive without a stripe up your back — which is the entire point of riding to work rather than changing when you get there. Rated to 120kg all-in, rider and load together.
EVERY PART, ONE MACHINE
27kg, inspected and torque-checked in the UK. Every component chosen to be serviced, not thrown away.
THE JACK — THE NUMBERS
*Range depends on rider weight, terrain, temperature and assist level. We quote honest numbers, not lab-on-a-good-day ones.
