HTR — INFORMATION DECK
Ten panels. No adjectives we can't back up.
01
HTR is family owned and family run, with roots in the bike trade going back years — we grew up around workshops and have been taking bikes apart since before we could drive.
We are not a marketplace reseller with a logo. We choose the machines, we buy them outright, we check every one before it ships — built up on request — and our own name is the address on the returns label.
02
A good e-bike in a British shop costs £1,800. The same hardware, from the same industrial cluster, sells online for £700 — with no UK entity behind it, no one to call, a two-pin charger in the box, and a spec sheet that quietly disagrees with the law.
Buyers are not choosing between quality and cheap. They are choosing between paying a huge margin for reassurance, or saving money and carrying all the risk themselves. We think there is an honest position in the middle: source the same hardware, put a real British company behind it, check it properly, and price it like a bike shop rather than a brand consultancy.
Typical direct-from-factory online price, no UK support, no accountable seller.
Typical UK high-street price for comparable hardware, with support built into the margin.
Factory hardware, UK company, UK inspection, UK warranty, a shop you can walk into.
03
Five steps, and we can name a person at each one.
We pick models from our factory partner's line in Zhejiang and buy a physical sample of every one before it goes near the website. We have bought all four.
Power rating, speed limiter, charger plug, lighting and finish are agreed in writing per model — not assumed from a PDF.
Full containers under UN 38.3 battery transport rules, cleared into UK stock. Nothing is drop-shipped to your door from overseas.
Every bike is unboxed, built, torque-checked and PDI'd in the UK. Anything that fails goes back to us, not on to you.
UK warranty, UK spares, free first service, and one email address that reaches a person who has held your bike.
04
Seven machines, deliberately split into a road-legal commuter series and an off-road Terrain series. We do not blur the line between them, because the line is the law. Prices below are full price; a launch offer is applied automatically at checkout while the promotion lasts.
468Wh commuter, 250W, 26-inch wheels, Shimano 7-speed. The flagship.
360Wh folder, 250W, 14-inch wheels, one hinge. For trains and small flats.
624Wh, 20×3.0 tyres, front suspension. The everyday workhorse.
16×3.0 wheels, short hops and tight storage. The city runabout.
500W, 749Wh, 20×4.0 fat tyres, twin coil-overs. Private land.
750W, four-link rear, folds to a boot. Private land.
500W, 624Wh, 20×4.0 fat tyres. Private land.
05
Pre-delivery inspection is the whole value of buying from us rather than from a listing. This is the actual list.
06
Half of this industry sells 750W machines as "e-bikes" and lets the customer discover the difference from a police officer. We are not going to do that, and it costs us sales.
The Jack and the Jack Flash are 250W EAPCs, assistance cutting out at 15.5 mph — road legal, no licence, no insurance, ride them anywhere you would ride a bicycle. The Rover and the Nomad are 500W and 750W and are not road legal in the UK: they are sold for private land and closed circuits, they are labelled that way on the product page, in the basket and on every footer, and we do not offer a road conversion.
Our full classification table, compliance checklist — including the items still open — and battery safety guidance are published at docs. We would rather show you an unfinished checklist than a certificate wall we cannot evidence.
07
Bought outright and stored here. If the site says it is in stock, it is in a building we rent.
Frame, motor, controller, display and battery. Wear items excluded, stated plainly.
Full annual service included with every bike, at our partner workshop.
Unridden and complete, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
We publish the manufacturer's range figure and tell you it was measured on the flat by a light rider.
One email address, answered by someone who has physically handled your bike.
08
Buying a bike outright is not the only sensible way to get one, and for a lot of commuters it is not the best one. Three routes, in the order we are building them.
One payment. Full price, with a launch offer applied automatically while the promotion lasts: the Jack Flash £799 (offer £449), the Jack £999 (offer £599), the Commuter 20 £899 (offer £769), the Nomad £1,199 (offer £949), the Rover £1,399 (offer £1,049).
Spread the cost at 0%. The lender's fee is built into one price, so paying monthly costs the same as paying in full.
Bike, servicing, insurance and theft cover in one monthly price — competing with hire schemes, except it lives at your door. In design.
Finance is not available yet. It will be provided through an FCA-authorised lender, subject to status, with full terms shown before you commit — we are not a lender and do not give credit advice.
09
The first job is to get four machines through inspection and out of the door properly. After that, in order: publish the verified compliance evidence and replace every "open" line on the docs page; confirm a west London workshop partner for HTR servicing; add accessories and spares so a bike stays fixable; and extend the range only where we have ridden the sample ourselves and would put our own name on it.
We would rather sell four machines we understand completely than forty we have only seen in a catalogue.

Questions about which machine is legal where, about the specification, about servicing, or about stocking HTR — one address, answered by one of us.
